Small Part Sonography (Breast Sono-mammography, Thyroid, Scrotum, Appendix, Infant Brain sonography)
At Shree Shiv Digital X-ray & Sonography (Color Doppler) Clinic, we are proud to offer Small-part sonography is a specialized ultrasound imaging technique used to examine superficial structures and small organs in the body. It provides real-time imaging to aid in the diagnosis of various conditions. Below are key aspects of small-part sonography for different organs:
Breast Sonography (Sono-mammography) Used to evaluate breast lumps, cysts, fibroadenomas, and tumors, Helps differentiate between solid and cystic lesions. Complementary to mammography, especially for dense breast tissue. Useful for guiding biopsies.
Thyroid Sonography: Assesses thyroid nodules, goiter, and thyroiditis. Detects cysts, solid masses, and signs of malignancy. Helps in evaluating vascularity using Doppler imaging. Often used for ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (FNA).
Scrotal Sonography: Examines the testicles, epididymis, and scrotal sac. Diagnoses conditions like hydrocele, varicocele, testicular torsion, and tumors. Detects infections like epididymo-orchitis. Evaluates infertility-related abnormalities.
Appendix Sonography: Used to detect acute appendicitis. Helps differentiate appendicitis from other causes of abdominal pain. Shows an enlarged, non-compressible appendix with increased vascularity. Often performed in pediatric patients to avoid radiation exposure from CT scans.
Infant Brain Sonography (Cranial Ultrasound) :Performed through the fontanelles (soft spots) in infants. Assesses conditions like hydrocephalus, intracranial hemorrhage, and congenital anomalies. Helps evaluate preterm infants for periventricular leukomalacia (PVL) and brain development issues. Non-invasive and preferred over CT/MRI in neonates.
